What is in vogue today? Fashion seizes after any sight of new but deemed be anyone who doesn’t know the history. To understand the present, one ought to know the past! Nothing new can come have you not learned about the greatest titans of the past.
Hmm… I wonder… Isn’t the best student curious and open-minded? So he/she shall sooner or later learn about his/her predecessors. And isn’t it that fashion is about innovation? Wouldn’t you agree that innovation is the easiest to come to the unenlightened?
‘Unenlightened’ to what has become our common truth, stigma and currently in vogue. What was your inspiration? Excuse me… I meant What did you appropriate? If we are proclaimed accepting of all others, claim to have succeeded living in harmony, that is sharing values, goals and enjoying each other’s company. Why is it we are so tightly clinging to what’s ours– our culture, our values, our vision, our perspective… Where is the togetherness?
If once, the model was in vogue, yesterday- the designer and today the seamstress too. Why is that news? Does one exist without the other? And if one has mastered the history to an appropriate extent, which is more than others, does that allow to call yourself a critic of the vogue? Perhaps, after all, what is in vogue is the accepted reshaped history. Wouldn’t you agree?
What do we admire? What is glam? The appropriately renovated past marketed in new ‘ exciting ’ wrap. Thus… What is in vogue? Nostalgia. Being fashionable is what keeps us safe from those so feared ‘faux pas’. And yet, madame, all dressed in vogue… safe… are still nervous about being judged by the ones that never play the game.
The ones who are either simply observing, hence cannot provide an educated view enough. The ones, who had their fair share of experience and have reached beyond the vogue. Stylish they call them. Or the ones still playing, who will then appreciate your effort.
All simply meaning what is in vogue is here to be played with! Thus, waste less time worrying and more enjoying and appreciating fashion, noticing what makes your best self come through.
