New Netflix Series
Can Emily in Paris level up to Sex and the City? We are about to find out. Season 1 is about to air on October 2, 2020. Hopes are up! Can we be getting a contemporary spin on Carrie Bradshaw? One that is relatable to all the cosmopolitan girls out there?
Thanks to Darren Star, the creator of ‘Sex and the City’ series, we might be getting a very 21-st century Carrie, only she will be Emily. The home of the series will be Netflix, which is perfectly suited as they already have Sex and the City, the movie sequence but not the series.
Enough business, more about the series!
Emily in Paris
Her name is Emily Cooper and, unlike Carrie, she goes to Paris for work, so far so good #workinggirl. The wardrobe is set to be a success as Patricia Field, the costume designer on Sex and the City has worked on the show, consulting alongside Marylin Fitoussi.
After all, we were so pleased with the unforgettable wardrobes of Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha, and Miranda, I’m sure we are about to encounter more gems on Emily In Paris.
Lily Collins
Congrats to Lily Collins, who is set to skyrocket her career as Emily. Playing the role of a young woman landing the dream job. Emily settles in Paris when her Chicago-based company acquires a French luxury marketing business. She is transferred to Paris and is trying to get through to her French colleagues with her “American point of view” while revamping the company’s social media approach.
If before we were glamourizing the big city girls, today the ex-pats are in vogue. Anyway, I’m excited to see how much of a reflection I’ll catch from that screening. Is it just me?
Last but not least, I have to admit it’s the perfect timing. After the quarantine has been around for a while, I’m about to finish watching Sex and the City for a … well…can’t recall which time. Who’s counting! Are you tuning in on the 2nd? Let me know in the comments.
Me? Mais oui! I can’t wait. Wishing you a great weekend!
Stay mindful and practice your French!
Yours,
MK ❤
