22 Dreamy Photos from Margarita Kareva, an Amazing Russian Photographer and Storyteller

Margarita Kareva is a Russian photographer, living in Ekaterinburg and traveling for photoshoots all over the world. She is known for her fairytale photography. Always bringing different magical stories to life. She works with props during her photoshoots and also very often does post-editing with Photoshop.

She is spreading the knowledge of her craft through her workshops in different locations around the world and limited spots for each workshop. In this way, she keeps the exclusivity of the experience as well as maintain the quality of what the students produce.

More importantly, we can look at her work as an example of a luxury product and at the same time representing a luxurious service. Looking at Margarita Kareva’s work I got into thinking about the effect storytelling has always had on a brand’s image and it’s so relevant today. And thus…

Why Photography Storytelling Is Great For Your Business?

Luxury status

Even though the concept of luxury is changing under the influence of social media, the one constant in luxury retail has always been storytelling. Luxury items are known to have a higher price tag and used to appear unattainable.

More importantly, luxury represents something way more valuable for the buyer and it doesn’t come from the brand’s name. Rather, it comes from what that name stands for, whether that be craftsmanship, heritage, exclusivity, authenticity or above all how that item/ experience makes one feels.

Through great photography and film making, a person can be taken on a journey of all of his senses. Hence, photo storytelling is priceless when it comes to enchanting your customers.

Staying true to yourself

As saturated as the market is today, it has become hard to differentiate your brand and even if you manage to do so, you need to keep innovating within your idea to stay relevant.

Hence, being unique has become more about setting the next trend so that your brand appears non-conventional at least for a while. Usually, combining two or more spheres of life/ work will guarantee some level of success.

Combining photography & fairytale scenes gives Margarita Kareva a unique perspective. Not that there aren’t other photographers doing this but combining two spheres and giving it your one of a kind idea separates you from the crowd.

There will always be other but they won’t have her background which helped her show us some Russian heritage insights and in general her unique perspective. This is what helped her create something distinctive and interesting to a wider audience. In this way, her brand becomes distinguishable.

Reaching a wider audience

Giving your unique perspective while combining two or more fields, when done right is sure to boost your brands’ visibility. Tapping into something that unites people with different views. This leads to higher spreadability and earned media.

The great news is that you don’t have to have the millions, that big corporations do, to create an impression in the client. Authenticity is always the key. All you need is one happy client and the word will spread. The more you thought about your client when creating your story the longer span of life your campaign will have.

That will be generating new business opportunities forever. The more people hear about your story and connect to your brand, the less competition you will have. For small businesses is hard to invest in a PR concept of a campaign as there are no guarantees.

There is no ROI promptly and most small brands settle for short-term, clear ROI, instead of going for the long term and winning the hearts of their clients.

High risk- High reward

Being an innovator is never easy. The good news is no one remembers failures. With a PR team by your side, it’s highly unlikely to fail big. Nonetheless, clients are very forgiving as long as one tries.

Bringing a new perspective in the game, making history and innovating seems like something saved for the few on top. The truth is that the only difference is that they are willing to take high risks and ready to fail or win big.

If they fail it is still bringing awareness to the brand and you can only do better next time. If it works out though the benefits are for life. Branding is like investing in an upcoming artist- it may not pay off right away, but if he/she turns out to have the right ingredients for success, your brand will be the one that was behind the story.
